BROOKS COLLEGE GRADS "DESIGN" FUNDRAISER FOR THE CHILDREN'S CLINIC "LIQUID: DEPTH. DIRECTION. DESIGN." 35th Annual Design/Fashion Show To Be Held At CalMart 3/15 The public is invited to join Brooks College's top graduates as they showcase their unique work and compete for top honors at Brooks College?s 35th annual design and fashion show, this year named, "LIQUID: DEPTH. DIRECTION. DESIGN.?" A fundraiser for The Children's Clinic, Serving Children and Their Families, a nonprofit dedicated to providing healthcare to underserved, medically needy children and families in the Long Beach area, this year's event will be held at the California Market Center (110 East Ninth Street in downtown Los Angeles) on Thursday, March 15th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (Design Showcase: 5:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m.; Runway Show: 7:30 p.m.). Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10 with Student ID or $20 for General Admission (parking fees not included). The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and state-of-the-art presentations by Brooks College graduates in the fields of Interior Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia & Animation, who will showcase their greatest work as part of this preview of the next generation of visual design. Bound to take a spot among the best within their respective disciplines, those demonstrating creative excellence during the evening?s showcase will be awarded cash prizes by a panel of industry professionals who will serve as judges. Immediately following, Brooks College Fashion Design graduates will present original, trendsetting styles worthy of any catwalk in a full-scale runway production produced by Fashion Merchandising graduates. An exciting addition to the runway show features children from The Children?s Clinic, Serving Children and Their Families, who will kick things off with a "Walk of the Children" introducing designs by former Brooks College student, noted fashion designer Uriel Saenz. "This annual event has become one of the most anticipated events for students and the fashion community at large and we are delighted that it will be raising much-needed funds for such a deserving cause," said Patrick Comstock, president of Brooks College." DESIGN." provides our top graduates with the opportunity to present their work to a wide array of industry professionals, who can provide opportunities and advice to some of the brightest new artists in the industry.? The Children's Clinic, Serving Children and Their Families, is a non-profit, licensed, community clinic dedicated to providing quality healthcare and health promotion to underserved, medically needy children and families in the Long Beach area. The Clinic was established in 1939 by a group of local pediatricians who recognized the importance of access to healthcare for all children, particularly those who are from low-income families and are therefore at risk for health problems. The Clinic has grown from offering weekly well-child care to a daily, full service healthcare facility with primary care services offered to children, adolescents and adults.
