DOGS INVITED TO PLAY FOR HOURS ON THE BEACH OFF-LEASH

Haute Dogs on the Beach: Sunday, Aug. 25, 3-7 p.m. Belmont Shore

note: We plan to continue to offer monthly Haute Dogs on the Beach events, produced by Justin Rudd and sponsored by Recreation Dog Park and the Long Beach Dept. of Parks, Recreation & Marine, until the one-year pilot program begins that will allow hours for off-leash dogs every day on a certain area of the beach.

Haute Dogs on the Beach: Sunday, Aug. 25
Justin Rudd, in alliance with Recreation Dog Park (LONG BEACH) and the Long Beach Dept. of Parks, Recreation & Marine, will host Haute Dogs on the Beach on Sunday, Aug. 25 from 3-7 p.m. on the beach between Argonne and Park avenues in Belmont Shore. This event is free and open to the public. Dog owners are responsible to bring water for their animals. Volunteers are needed for the events for supervision and registration. Contact JustinRudd@aol.com if you can volunteer.

RULES:

1.Dogs must be leashed until they reach the roped-off play area, where they can run freely on the sand and in the water.

2. As a condition of admission to such dog exercise areas, the owner of such dog(s) shall use a suitable container or instrument to remove dog feces and shall dispose of it in waste containers for that purpose.

3. Aggressive dogs are not permitted.

4. All dogs must be under visual and voice control by their owners at all times.

5. Dogs shall not be left unattended.

6. Dogs under four (4) months old are not permitted.

7. All dogs must have current vaccinations and licenses. Click here to get licensed

8. Female dogs in heat are not permitted.

9. There must be one responsible adult to accompany each dog at all times during the Haute Dogs on the Beach event.

10. Professional dog handlers and walkers shall have a City business license.

11. Children shall be accompanied by an adult and shall not run, shout, scream, wave their arms, or otherwise excite or antagonize dogs.

12. Owners are legally responsible for any injury caused by their dogs.

13. Spiked collars on dogs are not permitted.

14. The owner of a dog must have in his/her possession a leash for the dog which shall be worn by the dog at all times that the dog is not in the designated, roped-off beach play area.

15. Owners shall otherwise comply with all rules governing the beach and relevant parking regulations.

16. Participation at Haute Dogs on the Beach by any dog shall constitute implied consent of the dog's owner to all regulations and shall constitute a waiver of liability to the City of Long Beach, Recreation Dog Park Assoc., Long Beach Dept. of Parks/Rec./Marine, Haute Dogs and Justin Rudd; and shall also constitute an agreement to protect, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Justin Rudd, Haute Dogs, Recreation Dog Park, the City of Long Beach, and their volunteers, officials and employees for any injury or damage caused by a dog.

17. Before being allowed to enter the Haute Dogs on the Beach designated event area, all human participants must sign a liability waiver which will be provided. A separate waiver must be signed at each event.

18. Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied at all times by a parent/guardian and a parent must sign his/her liability waiver.

19. Each person who enters the roped-off Haute Dogs on the Beach area must sign a liability waiver.
