HAUTEDOGS.ORG TO SPONSOR INTER-FAITH BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS SEPT. 29 IN DOWNTOWN LONG BEACH
HAUTEDOGS.ORG presents the inter-faith Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Sept. 29, 12:15 p.m. at Marina Green Park near the marina in downtown Long Beach. The event is FREE and open to the public. Following a very brief ceremony, all creatures great and small -- from dogs and cats to hamsters and even horses -- are invited to line up for a special ceremony called the Blessing of the Animals.
THIS CUSTOM is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures. The event will be held at the downtown marina green in conjunction with Friend's of Long Beach Animals' annual "Animal Appreciation Day" and "Walk for the Animals." No reservation is necessary. Seniors, families, singles, and children, can bring their dogs, cats, birds, or any type of well-behaved pet.
Religious leaders from various churches, synagogues and other houses of worship will take leadership roles during the ceremony. Names/Details to be announced mid September.
