TacMan7's retro rock sound has come full circle, and is now considered to be somewhere between straight alternative and alternative rock. Variety seems to have been the goal of this reclusive recording group from Perris, California. Songs range from traditional forward rock to syncopated rock reminiscent of early work of bands like The Police. There is even an all acoustical tribute to the popular 30's country star Jimmy Rogers. With such wide-ranging appeal these melodic tunes might have a chance in today's ever-changing music market.

Small Talk
Marc Shepard is a songwriter living in Chicago who records in his home studio with occasional help from his friends. The songs are eclectic, and reflect the diversity of rock, pop and folk-rock music that has inspired him over the years. Rather than concentrating on a single style, Marc evokes the music of the 60's and 70's "when the record business didn't have such a strangle hold on popular music, and when songwriters were allowed more latitude in their musical choices." His CD shows the influences of The Byrds, The Beatles and the Jayhwks, with a bit XTC and Robin Hitchcock thrown in as well. What holds it all together is a strong sense of melody, and lyrics that can be serious, ironic or sad, but always try to evoke a variety of feelings.
